About our enzymes
Volcanic enzymes for bottom-up proteomics
CinderBio's patented technologies allow us to produce new heat and acid stable HTA-enzymes for bottom-up proteomics and industrial applications that work faster and last longer than anything previously available. These unique enzymes are made from amazing microbes that thrive in hot volcanic waters around the globe.
These enzymes provide access to parts of the proteome unavailable with standard tryptic digest protocols. Sample preparation in as fast as 5 minutes[1] can be achieved allowing for efficiency in workflow turnaround times which make acute-care[2] clinical proteomics applications possible.

Both Krakatoa and Vesuvius are semi-specific proteases (E, L, or F) which digest at high temperatures in acidic conditions (e.g., 80C, pH 3)

Due to the heat and acid conditions, no chaotropes are required for digestion

Alkylation is also not required as acid conditions ensure cysteines remain protonated
